So, tomorrow is my birthday.  I'll be 52, how depressing is that?  LOL!  Anyway, I'm sitting here at my kitchen table, looking outside on my backyard, enjoying the beautiful 66 degree day here in California, and I'm contemplating my next project.  I guess my Triceratops could actually be considered my January project since it's almost done.  I was looking through my crochet books and magazines, and I think I'm going to crochet a zoo for my grandson.

The book I found the Triceratops pattern in has several very cute animal patterns, and I think I'm going to make one of each for him.  Guess I better start looking through all my yarn and get started...Oh, I am also crocheting hats for the newborns at our local hospital.  They only take me about an hour to make, and they're so cute, and so needed for the babies.  I will definitely have plenty to keep me busy for the month of February ;-)

February Project

So, my February project is a stuffed dinosaur, the Triceratops...my youngest daughter (17 in February) was with me in the craft store, and saw the pattern book with the picture on the front with this dinosaur.

She "had" to have it!  I hope I can get it done in time for her birthday.  It will be adorable, and I will post pictures when it is done.  If I like the pattern, I may make one for my grandson also.  I'm really enjoying blogging my projects.  However, I may end up blogging more than one per month, since I'm constantly working on one project or another.  I guess I'm just one of those people who has to keep busy, and crocheting is relaxing for me.  So, I'll be posting pics of the Triceratops soon!

January Project

Ok, this is my January project.  There is a story behind this scarf, a lady I met at the bowling alley
was talking to me about my crocheting.  She mentioned that she loved the Oakland Raiders football team, and that she wanted a scarf in their colors, so, I decided I would make her one as a Christmas gift.

I went shopping for yarns, and came across some black and silver yarn with sparkles in it.  It was around Christmas time, so, go figure :-)  Anyway, I didn't have a pattern to follow, and I just started crocheting, and came up with this design.  The funny part of this story was that my mother, decided she like it and wanted one too...then, my daughter saw it and she wanted it too.  LOL!

Well, when I went to the bowling alley to deliever the scarf to my friend, it just so happened that she wasn't there that night, and another lady I bowl with saw the scarf and wanted to buy it from me for her daughter as a Christmas gift.  So, in the long run, I ended up creating 4 scarves like the one pictured here.  I haven't written down the pattern, but, it's fairly easy, and I may create a few more in different team colors for other "fans" out there!

The first one is always the hardest!

As many of you know, the first post on a new blog is always the hardest!  I have never had a "blog" before, although, I have had a MySpace, and a Facebook account in the past.  I hated using myspace, so, that's no longer in use, however, I live alot of the time online in Facebook.

As you may suspect by the name of my blog, I love to crochet...however, I wanted something different for the name, so, "Crow-Chez Queen" came to mind.  Trendy, not so much, but, hey...it fits me LOL!

Anyway, I hope to post some pictures of some of my "work" here on my blog, and if anyone else out there likes it...well, that's cool, if not...oh well :)  I'll live.
